The best sport riding book is available. I see a lot of new riders as a riding coach. I recommend this book the first time. Those that read it perform better than those that don’t. The book does a good job of explaining the physics of riding in a way that most can understand. Many might think it’s not for them. The physics of track or street are the same. This book will make you a better rider.

I bought this book because I couldn’t get into a riding course early enough after buying my first street bike. I mentionedTwist of The Wrist when the intructor said I had a perfect score on the riding course. The instructors were familiar with the book.

A Twist of the Wrist 2: The Basics of High-Performance Motorcycle Riding is a book that will teach you how to ride like Doohan instead of riding like a squid. A twist of the wrist 2 will teach you how to ride faster, smoother, safer, it could save your life, and it will teach you more about motorcycle riding technique than you thought. The guy taught Doug how to go faster. I can’t recommend this book enough. This volume shows you how to corner in any situation. The main headings are throttle control,rider input,steering,vision,braking,traction and racing. You will learn that safety and speed are related. As long as you set up a smooth entry into the corner, then power through and blast on the other side, you will find a bike like my Yamaha Virago 1100 is a pretty quick bike through corners. This riding style has helped me blow away squids on my GSXR750s and 1100s. The bike will go all the way through if you brake hard into a corner. The suspension is set up to provide traction all the way through the corner if you get your braking done before the corner.
